The people that make it happen

A young and small team of engineers, scientists, and athletes united by one mission: giving coaches the unfair advantage. Small enough to move fast, talented enough to power the world's elite.

The Vitruve Team

A powerhouse of ambition and execution

We are more than just employees; we are a group of builders who understand that in a startup, speed and excellence are everything. Since 2017, we have evolved from a 2-person project into a 20-person unit in 2025, obsessed with creating the standard for elite performance. We have grown, but we haven't slowed down. We are scaling our team, our technology, and our impact, and we are just getting started.

Our Story

The Early Days

Iker and Oscar (the founders) used to train in the gym with the aim of improving performance, but they realized that gym routines were not working for them. Then they discovered that they were not properly individualizing the work in the gym, not taking into account daily performance variations, volume tolerance, etc.
The Early Days

An idea is Born

Then they discovered that there were some sensors that were capable of analyzing all this and individualizing the training to each person, the problem is that they cost $3,000-$4,000, so they decided to make their own, cheaper and better.

Vitruve (Speed4lifts) launched on May 26, 2017

They launched a crowdfunding on Instagram and received the first 350 orders. From there and reinvesting the profits they grew little by little until today. Our name was Speed4lifts at first, but it was a non-inclusive brand as it focused on powerlifting, and we soon realized that our customers went through all sports and even health. This is how Vitruve was born, a much more inclusive and scalable brand that adapts to all targets.

2016

The first, functional version

When we discovered VBT, it resonated so much with the problems we were having at the gym at the time that we decided to make our own. Iker, using materials he had at home, made his first functional prototype, which sent data to a computer.

2017

The first product launch

After countless iterations, we settled on the 3D printer. It produced the best quality and was within our budget, as injection molds were out of reach for this first version of the encoder. In April 2017, we launched our v1 encoder to the public.

The first 350 units

The first 350 units

We opened an Instagram account, took a few photos, and received our first 350 orders. It was crowdfunded, since we didn't have the money to buy stock. With the proceeds, we got to work on the v2 encoder.

Committed to precision from day one

Committed to precision from day one

We calibrated the first encoder against T-Force, the Spanish gold standard to date. From day one, we knew that precision was a must.

2018

Encoder V2, the evolution

With the feedback and lessons learned from encoder v1, we released the second version, with a screen and an iOS app. With the money raised, we were able to make our first injection molds to improve the quality of the product.

The team was growing

The team was growing

Speed4lifts moved forward, and so did the team, but Iker and Oscar continued to assemble and ship each unit. Everything was homemade, everything happened in our workshop.

First in-person events

First in-person events

We attended our first event, and for the first time people could see the encoder, try it out, and ask us how we had done it, as it was a total disruption at the time.

2020

Vitruve is born

Over the next two years, we worked on maintaining continuous stock and delegating assembly to a production line. During COVID, we pivoted the brand to Vitruve, a more scalable image that is less focused on powerlifting.

Not only did the brand change

Not only did the brand change

The encoder did too, so we took the opportunity to make improvements in precision, processor, and Bluetooth connection.

Vitruve Teams

Vitruve Teams

At the end of that year, Vitruve Teams was born, the software platform for managing many athletes and training them simultaneously. Until then, we only had an app for athletes.

2025

The all-in-one platform

Over the years, we realized something: our users had to use several different software programs to do one thing: manage and improve their athletes' performance. That's why we decided to create Vitruve Hub, where all S&C happens.
